Submissions:
We prefer stories that contain fewer than 3,000 words, but will consider longer stories (absolutely no more than 5,000) if you are confident that the story will blow our minds.
Reviews of Things should be under 1,200 words.
If interested in submitting interviews or Briefs, please send query first.
We accept submissions via email (we strongly prefer an .rtf file attachment) or singing telegram only; all work should be sent to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or with the man in the pink gorilla suit. No multiple submissions. Please double-space your manuscripts and avoid FancyFonts. Or glitter.
We do not consider work that has appeared elsewhere. By elsewhere we mean anywhere else.
Yes! We do accept simultaneous submissions, but only if you promise to inform us if your story is accepted elsewhere. We promise to be excited for you.
If you submit via email, which you have to, expect to hear from us in eight (8) to twelve (12) weeks. If you submit via regular mail, expect to wait much, much, much longer. As in, you may be dead before you hear from us.
Please don’t inquire about the status of your submissions. We’ll let you know eventually. Probably.
We cannot accept responsibility for lost or damaged submissions. We accept responsibility for nothing. In fact, we blame you. Not really. But still.
We enjoy first-time online publishing rights. You enjoy telling all your friends that your story’s been published. All pieces submitted, whether published on the website or not, are also considered for our annual print anthology. We’ll inform you as soon as we’ve made our decisions if your work has been selected for the print edition. All other rights regarding further publication belong to the author.
We cannot pay you. We do, however, love you. And need you. Thank you.
